All photographs annotated in pencil on reverse, apparently by the No. 1 gunner of the 1st battalion (or Machine Gun Detachment?), Royal Norfolk Regiment (see photograph annotated "My gun No. 1"). Identical prints are found in an album in the Royal Norfolk Regiment Museum which was put together by Lieutenant Hadow, though the annotations are quite different and less personal. The name of a "Mr. Lemon", possibly R. J. Lemon, a private in the Regiment, appears, with a price, in a different hand on a photograph annotated "Our gun detachment" - possibly he got these images printed?
