Bookplate of Christopher Turnor., [Binding:] 18th century French red morocco, double gilt fillet borders with dentelles of outward facing fleur-de-lys framing an inner panel comprised of a heavily embossed double row of gilt floral or foliate tools, additional floriate corner pieces extending into the body of the binding; inner gilt dentelles of a single floral roll. Tools in the style of J-A.Derome (1696-1760). Overstamped gilt arms on upper and lower covers. Spines with 6 raised bands gilt, double gilt fillet borders to 7 compartments, 5 gilt-tooled floral corner pieces and a large central gilt floral tool, tan goatskin lettering and numbering-pieces in 2 compartments. Contemporary French blue silk paste-downs and endpapers, secured at inner hinges with blue-dyed linen thread.
