Note
While still in Paris, Robert Estienne issued three editions of his Greek Alphabet, type specimens for his new "Grecs du Roi." The new types were printed in 1543, 1548, and 1550. The types were cut by Claude Garamond based on the Greek script of the Cretan calligrapher Angelo Vergazio. Roberttook the punches of all three sizes of type with him, and all three appear in this work.
