16th century Oxford dark brown calf; blind tooled triple fillet frames, with centrepiece tool no. 1 and ornament no. 50 according to N.R. Ker's classification; blind tooled single fillet on spine with two bands of hatching at head and tail; red morocco spine label with gold tooled letters and triple fillet border; five raised bands; four leafs of 13th century ms. material as pastedowns (see Ker, 1376); traces of book chain and green silk ties; mends in parchment and leather to head and tail of vol. 2.
