Propagation (meaning reproduction or multiplication) Project #105 is like all of Junko Mori's work inspired by her observations of trees and plants. The subtle difference of each part represents the growing phases of an organism. Junko Mori does not plan the shape of the piece, but it develops while she is working on it.Junko Mori was born in 1974 in Japan. She did her BA in Industrial and Craft Design/Metalwork in Tokyo, Japan before coming to London to do a BA degree in Silversmithing and Metalwork at the Camberwell College of Art. In 2001 she was chosen as one of the participants of the Crafts Council's Next Move Scheme.
A key element of Junko's work is the vsual impact of the assemblage of forged and cast metal where she finds, and is driven by, the infinite possibilities of form. In 2002, Mori stated "uncontrollable beauty is core of my concept."Mori graduated from the Camberwell College of Art and Design in 2000. In 2001, Mori was chosen as a participant in the Crafts Council's Next Move scheme. She was shortlisted for the 2005 Jerwood Applied Art Prize: Metal.
